VEHSI is a joint venture between NRG Holdings Inc., a 100 % Guyanese consortium of locally-owned businesses — Hadi’s World Incorporated, National Hardware Guyana Limited and ZRN Investments Incorporated, and Jan De Nul Group for the development of Port Vreed-en-Hoop.
Port Vreed-en-Hoop will be Guyana's first modern, deep water, multi-purpose port situated in Foreshore Plantation Best, West Bank Demerara. The port is expected to have a major positive economic impact on the lives of community residents and Guyana as a whole.
As Guyana continues to be one of the fastest growing economies due to recent offshore oil and gas discoveries, Port Vreed-en-Hoop will provide for greater nautical accessibility resulting in lower consumer prices for products and hundreds of direct and indirect employment opportunities. major infrastructural works will also see improvement in roads and bridges within the Vreed-en-Hoop community.
